Health & Wellness Coach

Hi,

I’m Rochana and I’m here to guide and assist you in your journey towards better health and wellbeing. I, myself, have traversed the lands of sickness for most of my life. As a result of heavy metal poisoning from mercury fillings and innumerable rounds of antibiotics, I have lived with an extremely weak immune system and severe candida overgrowth. Also being a highly sensitive person, I am familiar with issues such as electromagnetic and chemical sensitivity. Through detoxing, changes in lifestyle and diet, emotional and spiritual healing I have overcome the conditions of depression, eczema, asthma, seasonal and food allergies, candida overgrowth, sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.

The path towards true health is holistic. My philosophy is being as aligned with nature as possible. I believe in simplicity and learning how to listen to our bodies again, instead of masking the pain with medications. Awareness is the first step toward change, and many small, yet impactful changes can be made to detox our bodies and lives. In taking this path you will find, like I did, that health is achievable for all people.

For most of my life, I was taking seven different medications, from antihistamines, to sleeping pills, to antidepressants. At an incredibly low point in my life I decided to stop it all, and that turns out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. Now, almost two years later I am in the best health that I’ve ever experienced – and on no medication.

The journey was by no means easy or straightforward. After years of seeing various specialists – from skin doctors to physios to psychologists and psychiatrists, I came to the scary realization that none of these people seemed to have the answer.

I have journeyed to the inner depths of my being and because of all that I have experienced, I feel confident that my experience can now be used to help others who are still struggling with their health.

Health is not purely physical, it is also emotional and spiritual. There may be a lot to work through to achieve clarity, but the commitment to live to your fullest potential is the greatest commitment of all.

I am not a medical doctor or dietitian, therefore I do not diagnose or dispense any products. Through my own extensive experience and research in healing myself, I am providing the service of bringing simple and beneficial knowledge to those struggling with health issues, as well as emotional and spiritual support.

My main protocols are working to heal the gut by firstly detoxing, which includes your body and your environment from toxins, changing the diet to mostly organic plant-based, identifying and working through stress and psychological issues, and introducing practices such as meditation and positive thinking to aid in your healing.

The initial consult will be a meeting to discuss all of your concerns. I will provide initial suggestions that you can take home and implement straightaway, and will design a diet and lifestyle plan that best suits you. This will take approximately 45 – 60 minutes.

Follow up consultations will take approximately 30 – 45 minutes, which will be inclusive of research and specific plans I will continue to support you with.

The purpose of the follow ups is to provide continual progress and support for you along your journey to better health. As your body is constantly evolving and changing, it is important to evolve and change with it. The process of healing is like peeling through the layers of an onion, you begin with one layer, but underneath that layer you discover there are several more layers waiting to be reached.

I am living proof that you can heal yourself naturally and my passion is to now inspire others to do the same.

You can begin leading a healthier lifestyle today. The answers are already here, we just have to take the first steps to implementing them in our lives.

Charges:

Normal fee for initial consultation $120 (45 – 60 minutes per session).

Clinical Hypnotherapy:

What to expect when visiting a Hypnotherapist?

You should expect to be treated with respect and dignity as with any health professional. You will likely be asked to complete a questionnaire about your reason(s) for the Hypnotherapy consultation, a few personal details and some medical history. Most Hypnotherapists will only see you concerning any serious medical issue after referral from your doctor or specialist. While every therapist will have different procedures and methods of beginning the consultation, it is important that you feel safe and comfortable at all times and that you and the Hypnotherapist gain a rapport together that will later assist during the therapeutic evaluation and intervention.

Some therapists may seek “permission to touch” but will generally restrict any such touching to hands, arms, shoulders or head. Nowadays, most professional Hypnotherapists (especially those who trained with Hypnosis New Zealand) will choose absolutely no physical contact with you, other than a handshake at the start and finish of your Hypnotherapy consultation. Remember, you always have a choice about any touching and if you have every right to decline any request from your Hypnotherapist and that should have little or no effect on the outcome of your treatment.

Common Styles of Hypnotherapy:

There are two main styles of Hypnotherapy: Suggestive Hypnotherapy and Analytical Hypnotherapy. Many Hypnotherapists have developed their own individual combinations and variations on these styles which is the way I work fitting the style to the client.

Suggestive Hypnotherapy:

This generally involves gathering information from you about your problems and the ways you want to improve them. The Hypnotherapist will ask you questions about causes, effects and expectations, induce a light to medium trance state and then present your subconscious with deliberately constructed suggestions to assist you to make progress. There may be no need for you to speak during this style of Hypnotherapy. Generally you will be sitting or lying in a relaxed state listening to the Hypnotherapist speak about you overcoming your obstacles. You will probably be relatively aware of everything being spoken to you as you enjoy the relaxed feelings.

Analytical Hypnotherapy:

This style of Hypnotherapy usually involves the use of a procedure referred to as “regression”. Put simply, regression is “remembering past events that are locked in your subconscious”. Sometimes an event in your past that has been long “forgotten” can still have an impact on your present, and by accessing your “memory banks” the Hypnotherapist (with your help) can often modify that memory, so it has less negative effects on your present and future. The depth of trance for this procedure is often (but not essentially) somewhat deeper and the levels of awareness may fluctuate as you “relive” certain memories. Regressive Hypnotherapy will usually involve conversation between you and the Hypnotherapist. Important note: “Memories” recovered during regressive techniques, may be fact, but they may also be fantasy – with little or no way of distinguishing one from the other. Sometimes the recollections may be a mixture of the two – influenced by attitudes, thoughts and other experiences. Rarely are they absolute memories and provable. So, if you are seeking analytical therapy to uncover past abuses, with a view to prosecution, then you should consult a very experienced Hypnotherapist.

After Hypnotherapy:

You should be feeling wide awake – either bursting with energy, or quite mellow and relaxed. Which, will depend on a multitude of factors such as the style of Hypnotherapy used, length and depth of trance, etc. Because being in a trance is so beneficial for our mind and body, afterwards we may feel either refreshed and rejuvenated or very settled and relieved. The Hypnotherapist may give you a recording as support and arrange follow-up sessions with you.

Many Hypnotherapists can substantially improve your life in just one or two sessions, whereas some will insist on multiple sessions. Some Hypnotherapists will offer you a fixed number of sessions for a specific issue when you initially contact them, or suggest a number that you may require. Soon after your trance, the Hypnotherapist’s suggestions may still have some effect, so if in any doubt as to the necessity for extra or multiple sessions, then this is not the time to discuss them. Take the time afterwards to decide how much assistance you’ve already gotten from Hypnotherapy and how much better it could be with more visits.

What Issues can a Hypnotherapist Help With?

This is not an exhaustive list but to give an idea of issues that can be covered.

SELF IMPROVEMENT PERFORMANCE RELATIONSHIPS HABITS PHOBIAS ADDICTIONS OTHERS
Physical Personal Personal Smoking Heights Smoking Weight Loss
Behavioural Business Social Nail Biting Open spaces Alcohol Sleep issues
Emotional Sport Sexual  issues Hair pulling Spiders Gambling Depression / Anxiety
Confidence     Thumb sucking Fear of flying Foods Stress
Self Esteem

While there are many hundreds, probably thousands of ways a Hypnotherapist can benefit a person on its own, it should be noted that Hypnotherapy is also an excellent complementary procedure to most traditional forms of treatment for physical, mental, emotional and environmental issues.

Counselling Theories And Approaches:

There are five main approaches in counselling. Client centred, Transpersonal (integrated holistic approach), Psychoanalysis – psychodynamic, Cognitive and Behavioural. Counselling is helpful in over coming relationship issues, improving self confidence and motivation.

You should expect to be treated with respect and dignity as with any health professional. You will likely be asked to complete a questionnaire about your reason(s) for the Counselling consultation, a few personal details and some medical history. Most Counsellors will only see you concerning any serious medical issue after referral from your doctor or specialist. While every therapist will have different procedures and methods of beginning the consultation, it is important that you feel safe and comfortable at all times and that you and the Hypnotherapist gain a rapport together that will later assist during the therapeutic evaluation and intervention.

My style is predominantly Integrative combining more than one theoretical approach.
Discussing difficult situations and experiences isn’t easy. I endeavour to provide an environment that feels safe and comfortable with complete confidentiality.
